Dear Friend of Honour (Singapore),
The Honour Champions Community (HCC) is an open community which anyone who believes and wants to actively participate in promoting Honour for the well-being of our nation is welcome to join. It is made up of interest groups that we call “Honour Champions Groups” (HCGs). The field is wide, and the possibilities are enormous. At present, we have formed the following HCGs: Educators, Entrepreneurs, Young Professionals, Freelance Trainers and Coaches, Polytechnic Students, and the most recent group on Sustainability.

Welcoming a new Honour Champions Group |
Recently, Honour Champions Group on Sustainability (HCGS) was started by May Loh, one of our Community Advisors. As reflected in the photo, they are a work in progress! The founding council will work with young Leaders of Tomorrow from the St Gallen Symposium Singapore Chapter. Together they are one team pursuing a common vision of promoting a culture of Sustainability Driven by Honour. I have written a Memo on this approach to Sustainability and it is excerpted here: |
Sustainability is a matter of Honour. Honour stands on its two dimensions of Honouring our Word – being trustworthy – and Honouring Each Other – being people who care for others and are concerned for their continued well-being. Looked at in this manner, Sustainability is the outcome, but Honour is the driving force. |
Sustainability, on its own, may well turn out to be a check-the-box and meeting-the-rules exercise. Honour is a concern, conviction, and commitment exercise, which is where we should want Sustainability to be. |
Building on Honour SG’s dimensions of Honouring our Word and Honouring Each Other, HCGS seek to expand this to a framework for businesses & organisations to promote a culture of sustainability driven by Honour. HCGS have decided to begin their work with a film series on People and Nature. So, for a start, HCGS is working closely with our Honour Film Initiative team on commissioning films. They have identified several network and knowledge partners to work with in this first year, most notably the Duke-NUS Global Health Institute and Conservation International. |

Donations before 30 March 2022 are matched dollar-for-dollar |
Please join me in supporting HCGS in this initiative and consider their Call for Sponsorship. It will enable Honour (Singapore) to grow its impact significantly as we seek new partners and platforms to promote this aspect of a culture of honour. This includes support for plans later this year to work with our traditional partners in institutions of higher learning.

All donations are to be made to Honour (Singapore) Ltd., which, because of our status as an Institution of Public Character, means that you will qualify for tax deductibility through tax reliefs. And if you can make your donation before the end of March 2022, your donation will benefit us doubly as it will attract matching dollar-for-dollar grants from the government.
