We enjoy high-speed Internet connectivity today… but do you know the pioneers of Singapore’s telecoms industry?
Meet 91-year-old Mr Sim Say Hai. A telecoms engineer since pre-Independence, he established Singapore’s first satellite earth station on Sentosa.
Watch his reaction as theatre actress Ethel Yap of Pangdemonium’s Tribes fame brings him on a walk down memory lane – to revisit the historic site. Watch till the end for the sweet surprise!
Inspiration: “I made this film to honour my grandfather and pioneers like him who have paved the way for us. It is because of their efforts that we now have such advanced mobile telecommunications in Singapore. Mr Sim’s story is indelibly linked to the story of our nation.”
