But the real VIPs of the evening are our real-life subjects and inspiration behind the films. We take time to honour them and to celebrate their stories – and that is what makes each Honour Film Screening so very special.
Honouring the invisible people of Singapore
We take time to honour the real-life subjects who inspired the films. The audience gives their full attention to the stories that unfold on screen, and then takes the opportunity to acknowledge these real-life heroes among us. It is a time of deep, heartfelt affirmation and acknowledgement.
Celebrating young emerging talent
We honour the young emerging filmmakers of Singapore, their gifts and their perspective on Honour. If, as it has been said, that we are the stories we tell ourselves, then the future of the Singapore story lies in the hands of these young filmmakers.
Acknowledging those who cheer us on
Family and friends are invited to join in these milestone events and celebrate our filmmakers and real-life subjects. It is an occasion where we honour and acknowledge their parents, lecturers and all who believe in them.
Learning to step up and shine
Each screening is an opportunity for student talent to gain valuable experience as emcees, technical crew and ushers. The event is jointly organised with our national lead partner Ngee Ann Polytechnic, with other partners joining in as participating institutions. The vibes are great, and the sense of ownership is truly heartfelt.
